Well said my friend. We DO need the safety net but the question is how to fund it?

I am amazed at the number of “out of county” plates I see driving downtown every morning. Perhaps those that live out of the county should be expected to contribute. Other cities charge a city “payroll tax” ( which applies to professional athletes when they come to town)..

Why don’t ALL who use city services contribute?

Just a thought……

Jay: It is not only the Honorable men and Women of the State Legislature who want the Legislative Plaza back. It is the ordinary State worker, citizens of the State of Tennessee, and others who want the Plaza back. Enough is enough. Please consider the rights of others and not just the rights of the Occupy protsters.

Your advice to her about getting around to visit with various neighborhoods is good. But just wanted to add that Councilperson Barry did recently join a group of people from the Woodbine Neighborhood Association on Nolensville Pike for a margarita. So she does get out of Belmont/Hillsboro, not sure about the other neighborhoods you mentioned though.
