While I haven’t always agreed with all of Jim Cooper’s opinions on government finances, I find more and more that I really like the guy. Here is another example of someone living out his values:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — One lawmaker is paying people to return his campaign signs.
“You know I’m a penny-pincher anyway, and it’s very important we use this money wisely, because a brand-new sign actually costs a lot, and we want as few new signs as possible,” said Rep. Jim Cooper. “Let’s reuse the old signs.”
Cooper is paying 25 cents for each small sign returned to his office. The big signs will fetch $5.
